Helfa Gelf

Went on the Helfa Gelf Art Trail on Saturday with Paul and Isabella. Isabella was as good as gold encrusted with diamonds! Helfa Gelf is where Artist in Wales open up their Studios and places of work to the public on three consecutive weekends.
We visited Maud Telastuo, who is a French Jewellery designer living and working in Ruthin. Maud designs and then makes fantastic and gorgeous jewellery and accessories all handmade from her funky home studio. Isabella and I had a go at making paper beads which we then threaded onto a necklace that was part of Maud's workshop for the day! Isabella just loved the gluing, then with a little help from Mummy we selected all different shapes, sizes and colours of beads and buttons to add to the necklace. Isabella gave Maud one of our huge wooden buttons that we use for our Baby Gift Bundle Bags. Maud was delighted!

After a delightful morning we then went into the town to pick up a bite to eat and then headed for the park for a picnic. Yummy in my Tummy as Isabella would say, it was delicious!
We then visited Ann Bridges an artist who also lives in Ruthin. Ann's work is famous all over the world. Ann specialises in a printing technique which is truly amazing. Colours are just so bright and vivid and very realistic. It was amazing to see Ann's journals from over the years, truly works of art themselves.

We all then strolled home to soak up the last of the early evening sun and warmth. What a fantastic day!
